Getting Started
Important Bird AreasClick on an Important Bird Area to view details. If the Important Bird Areas are not visible on the map, open the layers dialog and check the box next to the layer.Land Cover vs. HabitatLand Cover was generated from the USGS's 2001 National Land Cover Database. Land cover refers to the physical and biological cover over the surface of land, including water, vegetation, bare soil, and/or artificial structures. Habitat was generated from the California Wildlife Habitat Relationships System, a wildlife information system and predictive model for California's regularly-occurring birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians, that describes 53 habitats. Map LayersClick on Layers to open the layers dialog. The dialog includes a list of layers available for displaying on the map. To add a layer to the map, click on the checkbox next to the layer name. The following is a list of the available layers:
